These fifteen participants have already decided their class project and committed to a local non-profit. Along with Bryant Parks and Recreation, the group will host a glow-in-the-dark disc golf game at The Traxx @Bishop Park Disc Golf Course. Follow the Traxx @Bishop Park Facebook page for information on registering to play in the game. The game will be Saturday, May 18th but planning has already begun!
Half of proceeds raised from the glow-in-the-dark disc golf tournament will go to Saline County scholarships and the other half to a non-profit of the groups choosing. The group has chosen Project Zero as their non-profit to support. Project Zero is a statewide non-profit committed to promoting children waiting for adoption in foster care. They raise awareness through community events, on social media and online, and hold "connection" events to help connect waiting children/teens with their forever family through their partnership with Arkansas DCFS.
Funds will come from sponsorships (available at several different levels) and possibly other avenues like a 50/50 drawing and t-shirt sales. More information will be updated through the Leadership Saline County Facebook page. If a company is interested in learning more about sponsorships, please contact Elisha Morrison at elisham@bentoncourier.com.
Keep an eye out for more information about the 2019 class project!
